Perfect Packing - Tips for Big Families
I love a good vacation with my family, but packing for it can be tough. We’ve had our share of disorganized luggage chaos and as a result we’ve spent more time and money fixing and buying than relaxing and appreciating. So, I set out to organize our luggage. Now, I look forward to our vacations and feel relieved to know each suitcase is perfectly organized with every essential neatly tucked into it. Here are my perfect tips for packing luggage with a big family.
My Luggage Choice: The Ikea Forenkla. This is hands down my top choice for many reasons.
1) Qualifies as a Carry-On! Non carry-on items can cost a ton. You can save big on unexpected baggage fees when you buy 1 Ikea Forenkla Carry-On per person for the entire family.
2) Super durable. This is an absolute must! Especially when your kids are dragging it through the dirt, sidewalks, airplanes, and hotels. With the Ikea Forenkla’s fabric exterior I can wash and wipe quickly, with mild soaps and a little water. If you want to take it up a notch you can scotch guard the fabric for even easier cleaning.
3) Large amount of interior space for your Packing Cubes to fit! I always use organizers. It just makes life that much easier. When you prep in advance, you can say goodbye to the frantic digging to locate the, “I swear I packed them” items. I’m huge on bulk buying too so here you can buy a 2 pack of Packing Cubes!
4) I adore the idea of a timeless piece and I love the idea of our luggage as a keepsake. To make this happen I started adding Iron-on destination patches as we traveled. It worked perfectly, on the Ikea Forenkla fabric. The kids loved them and now they are talking points every time we pull them out for a new trip.
5) *BONUS clip off backpack* . We use this back pack for day trips all the time. It fits one lunch box, a one 2 Liter Water Hydration Bladder, one Travel Blanket & Neck Pillow or one Quick Dry lightweight Microfiber Beach Towels , and good book or tech gadget.
